Our Story
VGI is a leader in the development of effective, informative programming for HVAC and other industries. Delivery methods include standalone video programming, classroom support programming, computer based training and candidate testing. Capabilities include interactive e-learning for technicians.
Present history points to a client list and cooperating partners for VGI over its 33 year history including almost all major HVAC equipment and component suppliers.
VGI was an early developer of training for the Section 609 Automotive EPA Exam. The same is true for the Section 608 Stationary Equipment EPA Exam. In 1993, VGI was one of 12 testing organizations approved by EPA deemed qualified to offer the national Section 608 exam required for Stationary Equipment technicians. It was the only private company so selected. The VGI Training and Testing Module for EPA Section 608 has been used by more than 500 training organizations. A majority of these training entities continue to use the module.
VGI, in concert with all HVAC systems manufacturers, was the original developer of the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) outlines and national testing regimen.
VGI has also developed online testing portals for several companies including NATE, Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), Building Performance Institute (BPI), and National Energy Management Institute (NEMI).
In its long history, VGI worked with many eminent adult educators including members of the National Skills Standards Board.
VGI educational and testing programming continues to be well-received and respected by a broad spectrum of personnel throughout HVAC and other industries.
